Old town Ulcinj
Old town Ulcinj
The beautiful town is surrounded by a 2500-year-old cyclopean wall, the old town can be reached from the northeast or from the bay of Mala Plaža. In the narrow streets you will feel the influences of the Orient. Guests’ attention is drawn to the so-called Slave Square, once the place where pirates brought their slaves to be sold, it is believed that the Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes was imprisoned in Ulcinj for five years. And there is also a museum located in a church mosque – an orthodox church that was converted into a mosque during the Turkish period.
